[0KK] Given a topological space \((X,𝜏)\), a base 1 is a collection \({\mathcal B}\) of open sets (i.e. \({\mathcal B}βŠ† 𝜏\)) with the property that every element of \(𝜏\) is an union of elements of \({\mathcal B}\).
